PLTSa ini juga menjadi solusi berkelanjutan bagi UI untuk pengelolaan sampahnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peresmian PLTSa dilakukan di Balai Sidang Kampus UI, Depok, Jawa Barat, pada Rabu (1\/12\/2021). Sebagai institusi pendidikan tinggi, UI memiliki fungsi vital untuk memproduksi pengetahuan dan juga inovasi teknologi terapan yang memiliki orientasi pada keseimbangan sosial dan ekologi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKerja sama yang dilaksanakan UI bersama PT Paiton Energy dalam mengembangkan teknologi penghasil energi terbarukan yakni dengan cara mendaur ulang limbah, merupakan aksi nyata kolaborasi antara pihak swasta dengan universitas untuk menawarkan solusi dalam menghadapi krisis lingkungan hidup,\u201d ujar Prof. Ari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam program Waste to Energy CSR Project ini, Paiton Energy mendonasikan delapan unit mesin Biodigester yang berfungsi sebagai PLTSa. Mesin tersebut beroperasi dengan memanfaatkan limbah sampah organik dan kotoran hewan maksimal dua ton per hari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selain menghasilkan listrik sebesar 234 kWh, mesin Biodigester juga memproduksi pupuk padat dan cair untuk pertanian yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat binaan UI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aset.sci.ui.ac.id\/sci\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Feature-Image-UI-Paiton-3.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/biologi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Feature-Image-UI-Paiton-3-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13071\" srcset=\"https:\/\/biologi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Feature-Image-UI-Paiton-3-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/biologi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Feature-Image-UI-Paiton-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/biologi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Feature-Image-UI-Paiton-3-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/biologi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Feature-Image-UI-Paiton-3-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/biologi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Feature-Image-UI-Paiton-3.jpg 1181w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Koichiro Miyazaki mengatakan penanganan sampah untuk menjaga kelestarian lingkungan adalah tantangan besar di dunia dan juga Indonesia. \u201cSalah satu upaya penting yang dapat dilakukan adalah membuat pembangkit listrik tenaga sampah, melalui program CSR kami, Waste to Energy CSR Project\u201d kata dia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menurut Miyazaki, keberadaan PLTSa di UI memiliki manfaat yang besar karena akan memperdalam pengetahuan dalam mengoperasikan pembangkit waste to energy dan memberikan peluang untuk meningkatkan kelayakan komersial pembangkit melalui studi bersama. Pengetahuan dan peningkatan tersebut sangat penting untuk mendukung kebijakan pemerintah dalam mendorong penggunaan energi terbarukan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menurut Direktur Pengabdian &amp; Pemberdayaan Masyarakat UI (DPPM UI) Agung Waluyo, program Waste to Energy CSR Project ini terfokus pada pemanfaatan sampah dan limbah organik. \u201cUntuk pemanfaatan biodigester yang akan diisi dengan daun-daun, kotoran hewan, sisa kotoran belatung, sehingga dapat mengasilkan biogas yang akan langsung kami manfaatkan untuk menggerakkan mesin pembangkit listrik\u201d, kata Agung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pejabat Dekan FMIPA UI (2018-2021) Rokhmatuloh mengatakan bahwa pihak UI menginginkan kampus ini menjadi kampus hijau dan mandiri energi listrik. \u201cKerja sama dengan Paiton Energy atas program Waste to Energy CSR Project ini dapat menjadi salah satu keberhasilan cita-cita kami ini,\u201d kata Rokhmatuloh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paiton Energy telah melaksanakan program CSR sejak tahun 2000 yang dirancang setiap tahun, dan dipantau oleh Komite Pengembangan Masyarakat.
