Seminar bertema \u201cNickel Exploration Journey: From Exploration Activities to Preliminary Geological Modeling\u201d digelar secara daring melalui Zoom, Senin (7\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seminar menghadirkan dua praktisi dari PT Harita Nickel Group, yakni Indarto Ir. Rosalyn Wulandari, S.T., Ore Modelling Expertise, dan Januarista Amartya Dyasti, Resource Geology Specialist. Keduanya memberikan gambaran mengenai penerapan ilmu geologi dan geofisika dalam kegiatan eksplorasi serta pengelolaan sumber daya mineral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rosalyn menjelaskan pemanfaatan nikel untuk berbagai kebutuhan industri, antara lain stainless steel dan material baterai. Ia juga memaparkan karakteristik endapan nikel laterit yang banyak ditemukan di Indonesia dan terbentuk melalui proses pelapukan kimiawi serta pengayaan supergen pada batuan ultramafik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cKarakteristik endapan menjadi dasar bagi geologist untuk membangun model geologi yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan,\u201d ujar Rosalyn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"415\" src=\"https:\/\/biologi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/sci-929.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18645\" srcset=\"https:\/\/biologi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/sci-929.png 768w, https:\/\/biologi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/sci-929-300x162.png 300w, https:\/\/biologi.sci-ui.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/sci-929-18x10.png 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sementara itu, Januarista membahas tahapan preparasi sampel eksplorasi, mulai dari penimbangan sampel basah, pengeringan (drying), penghancuran (crushing), pencampuran (mixing), hingga pembagian sampel (splitting\/reduction) untuk menghasilkan pulp atau bubuk halus yang homogen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dalam tahapan tersebut, penerapan Quality Assurance &amp; Quality Control (QAQC) diperlukan untuk memastikan kualitas data eksplorasi. Sampel duplicate digunakan untuk menguji presisi, standard untuk menguji akurasi, sedangkan blank digunakan untuk mendeteksi kemungkinan kontaminasi selama proses preparasi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kualitas data menjadi salah satu aspek penting sebelum data digunakan dalam pemodelan geologi tiga dimensi dan resource estimation. Validasi dilakukan terhadap berbagai data eksplorasi, termasuk collar, topografi, hasil survei, serta hasil pengujian laboratorium (assay).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cQAQC memastikan data eksplorasi layak digunakan sebagai dasar pemodelan dan estimasi sumber daya,\u201d kata Januarista.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dalam seminar tersebut, mahasiswa juga diperkenalkan pada kegiatan operasional PT Harita Nickel yang terintegrasi di Pulau Obi, mulai dari eksplorasi dan penambangan hingga pengolahan nikel menggunakan teknologi High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) dan Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace (RKEF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aspek pengelolaan lingkungan turut dibahas, antara lain melalui reklamasi pascatambang, penanaman mangrove, dan pemanfaatan kembali material slag nikel untuk kebutuhan konstruksi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pada sesi diskusi, peserta menanyakan penanganan hasil pengujian sampel standard yang berada di luar batas toleransi, seperti lebih dari tiga standar deviasi. Januarista menjelaskan bahwa batch sampel dengan hasil di luar batas tersebut belum dapat diterima dan perlu ditelusuri penyebabnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Menurut dia, hasil yang presisi tetapi tidak akurat dapat berkaitan dengan kalibrasi instrumen laboratorium. Adapun hasil yang tidak presisi dan tidak konsisten dapat mengindikasikan proses homogenisasi sampel yang belum optimal. Setelah sumber masalah diidentifikasi, tim eksplorasi dapat melakukan pengujian ulang (re-assay) terhadap batch yang bermasalah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seminar tersebut sekaligus memberikan gambaran mengenai kompetensi yang dibutuhkan dalam industri eksplorasi mineral.
