The peak of the 74th Anniversary of the University of Indonesia took place lively on Wednesday (21/2/2024) at the Balairung, UI Campus, Depok.
In line with this year's Dies Natalis theme "Continuously Building Sustainable Indonesia", UI gave awards to Faculties, Schools, Vocational Education Programs, units within UI, and UI academics and residents who contributed to efforts to achieve the goal of Sustainable Indonesia.
All awards given by UI come from 5 (five) main fields, namely the University Secretary field, Academic and Student Affairs field, Finance and Logistics field, Research and Innovation field, and HR and Assets field. In the same event, UI also announced and gave awards to the winners of the 74th Dies Natalis competition.
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI is one of the faculties with the most awards. The total awards won by FMIPA UI amount to 25 from 4 main fields. Of the total, 3 of them are awards for sports and arts competitions.

Dean of FMIPA UI Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. expressed his gratitude for the award given to the unit, academic community, and residents of FMIPA UI. To the FMIPA UI Public Relations team, he said that this award was a collective effort and synergy of all elements in FMIPA UI, and had also shown significant progress in improving performance achievements.
"We hope that this achievement can further spur the enthusiasm of lecturers, students, and education staff to improve performance achievements, maintain synergy, and quality, so that they can contribute more to the university, society, and the country," said the Dean.

For information, the initial series of activities for the 74th UI Anniversary was marked by an Open Session delivered by a lecturer and scientist from FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Jatna Supriatna, Msc., on Friday (2/2/2024). He spoke about the role of universities in studying various trade off in land use, biodiversity utilization, the impacts of climate change, and policies and management related to forests and oceans.
"In addition to scientific orations, the Dies Natalis activities were also enlivened by various competitions and contests related to health and environmental issues. Some of them are a tumpeng decorating competition using natural materials, sports competitions such as tug of war, table tennis, futsal, badminton, walking, and a fashion design competition using recycled materials," said Amelita Lusia, Head of the Public Relations and Public Information Disclosure Bureau (KIP), who is the Chairperson of the 74th UI Dies Natalis this year.
In addition, UI also held a competition for mass media journalists who reported on UI's efforts to support nature conservation.
The Dies Natalis event, which was attended in person at the Balairung by more than 1,000 people, was also enlivened by a performance by one of the country's biggest bands, Ada Band, who sang a number of their popular songs, such as "Because Women Want to Be Understood", "The Best for You", and "Haruskah Kumati".
