Alif Raya Zulkarnaen Represents FMIPA UI in University Level Pilmapres

Alif Raya Zulkarnaen, an outstanding student from the Undergraduate Geography Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI), participated in the selection stages of the Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres) at the University of Indonesia Level. This prestigious event was held on April 21–24, 2025 and was attended by 17 of the best students from all faculties and vocational programs at UI.

Alif was previously selected as the Main Outstanding Student of FMIPA UI 2025 in February, and is now stepping forward as a faculty representative in the university-level event. Pilmapres UI 2025 consists of four selection stages, namely interviews for outstanding achievements and CV assessments, psychological assessment interview tests, presentations of creative ideas for innovative programs, and English proficiency tests.

The Student Affairs Manager of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Dewi Susiloningtyas, S.Si., M.Si., also provided her support for Alif. "We are very proud of Alif's achievements and are committed to continuing to provide maximum support. Pilmapres is not only about achievements, but also about how students are able to have a positive impact on the environment and society," said Prof. Dewi.

This activity was officially opened by the Head of the UI Student Achievement Sub-Directorate, Dr. Alfian Syahmadan Siagian, M.Hum., who said that Pilmapres is one of the competitions that receives great attention from the university leadership. He emphasized the importance of this event as a form of preparation for the national selection and encouraged all participants to perform optimally.

"The Selection of Outstanding Students is not just a competition, but a forum to foster superior character and a spirit of real contribution to the nation," said Alfian.

In order to face this selection, Alif received intensive support from various parties in the FMIPA UI environment. The preparation of superior achievements and CVs was carried out together with the manager and staff of the FMIPA UI Student Affairs Unit. For the preparation of Creative Ideas, Alif was directly guided by Adnan Hasyim Wibowo, UI's 2024 Main Achievement Student from the Geophysics Study Program. Alif also participated in English training guided by FMIPA UI lecturers.

The FMIPA UI Student Affairs Unit actively provides full support, both academic and non-academic, to ensure Alif's readiness and confidence in facing each stage of the selection. This activity was also attended by student managers from various faculties at UI as a form of moral support for the participants.

Alif Raya Zulkarnaen's achievements and enthusiasm are expected to inspire other students to continue to work and contribute in the academic and social world.
