Depok, August 11, 2026 — A total of 892 new undergraduate students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) are participating in the Faculty Academic System Introduction (PSAF) 2026 program, held from August 11 to 13, 2026. This event follows the university-wide New Student Campus Life Introduction (PKKMB) held at the University of Indonesia from August 3 to 10, 2026.
The culmination of PSAF 2026 serves as the official welcoming event for new students by the leadership of FMIPA UI. These students were admitted through various selection pathways: the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), the National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT), SIMAK UI, PPKB UI, and the International Special Class (KKI).
The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI), Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si., welcomed the new students as "young knights" and "Pioneers of the Nation's Science." He stated that being accepted as an FMIPA UI student is not the end of the struggle, but rather the beginning of a journey to develop one's way of thinking, learning, and viewing various issues.
“However, I must state that today is not the finish line, but rather a starting line. Today marks the beginning of a new journey,” said Prof. Tito.
The number of new students at FMIPA UI has increased from 791 in 2025 to 892 in 2026. According to Tito, this rise reflects growing public confidence in FMIPA UI. At the same time, it places a responsibility on the faculty to continue providing high-quality and relevant education.

He added that the educational process at FMIPA UI does not take place solely in the classroom. Students can also develop themselves through research, community service, student organizations, scientific competitions, leadership, and collaboration.
“Students are expected not only to master knowledge but also to be capable of applying it to benefit society,” he said.
Prof. Dra. Wellyzar Sjamsuridzal, M.Sc., Ph.D., Chair of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI Professors' Council, also reminded new students to build a strong academic foundation from the very beginning of their studies. According to her, academic ability must go hand in hand with integrity, curiosity, and a passion for continuous learning.
“Build a strong academic foundation, uphold integrity, and continue to nurture your curiosity and passion for learning throughout your studies at FMIPA UI,” said Prof. Wellyzar.
Beyond the welcoming ceremony, the highlight of PSAF 2026 serves as an opportunity for new students to familiarize themselves with the academic environment and the various services available at FMIPA UI. The material presented covers organizational structure, academic services, student affairs, quality assurance, and research, as well as support services for their studies.

An overview of the Faculty Dean's Office organizational structure was presented by Prof. Anom Bowolaksono, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs at FMIPA UI, and Prof. Dr. Ivandini Tribidasari Anggraningrum, S.Si., M.Si., Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit at FMIPA UI, Januar Widakdo, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., introduced the functions and services of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit to new students.
Information regarding the development of student achievements and the student ecosystem was presented by Dr. Yulia Mariana Tesa Ayudia Putri, S.Si., M.Si., Assistant Manager for Student Achievement Development and Ecosystem at FMIPA UI. Meanwhile, the ecosystem for research and impactful science commercialization was introduced by Zico Alaia Akbar Junior, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., Manager of the Research and Impactful Science Commercialization Ecosystem at FMIPA UI.

FMIPA UI also introduced the Student Counseling Body (BKM) service through BKM FMIPA UI counselor Nina Marliyani, M.Si. Students can utilize this service to obtain support when facing issues that could potentially disrupt their studies or university life.
“Students should not hesitate to utilize counseling services. We maintain student confidentiality and privacy. Most importantly, students can receive support when facing challenges, enabling them to navigate their studies and complete their degree program smoothly,” said Nina.
Also present at the peak of PSAF 2026 were the Chair of the Academic Senate of FMIPA UI, Adi Wibowo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D.; the Secretary of the Board of Professors of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Eng.
