13 Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI Students Will Explore Studying Abroad Through IISMA 2022

Thirteen students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI), have successfully received the 2022 Indonesia International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) scholarships and are ready to explore the experience of studying alongside other international students at leading partner universities worldwide for one semester.

Participants underwent a selection process in April 2022, with departures scheduled from May to September.

The IISMA program is one of the implementations of the Independent Learning and Independent Campus Program launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia. This program aims to provide students with the rights and opportunities to develop their competencies and knowledge, as well as provide them with the experience of studying at a university abroad.

Dean of FMIPA UI, Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., expressed his appreciation to all the students. He stated that this success is inseparable from the support and collaboration of the academic community and educational staff.

He also emphasized that the leadership of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI, from the faculty level to the study program level, frequently motivates students to actively participate in self-development programs as part of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka program, one of which is IISMA.

"Leaders at the faculty and study program levels encourage each student to participate in this scholarship program. This program is an excellent opportunity for them to develop themselves according to their respective interests and gain a richer and more diverse learning experience," said Dean Dede.

He also advised the students to seize this opportunity with enthusiasm to achieve maximum learning outcomes and broaden their knowledge.
