FMIPA UI Encourages Young Generation's Interest in Science Through UI Open Days 2025

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) once again participated in the annual UI Open Days 2025 event held on May 3–4, 2025 at Balairung, UI Depok Campus. This event is a strategic momentum for FMIPA UI to introduce various study programs, admission pathways, tuition fees, campus life, and career potential of graduates to prospective students and the general public.

During the two days of the event, the FMIPA UI booth was crowded with visitors, most of whom were high school students who were looking for references to continue their higher education. FMIPA UI presented complete information about the 24 study programs offered, starting from the Bachelor's (S1), Master's (S2), Professional, to Doctoral (S3) levels. Three new programs were also introduced, namely Doctorate in Mathematics, Medical Physicist Profession, and Doctorate in Geography.

"We hope that UI Open Days will be a bridge for prospective students to get to know FMIPA UI more directly and comprehensively," said Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, S.Si., M.Si., who was present at the opening of the event. He emphasized the importance of access to the right information as a provision for choosing an educational path that suits one's potential.

The atmosphere of the event was even more lively with the presence of the 2024 UI Main Achievement Student, Adnan Hasyim Wibowo, from the Geophysics Study Program, FMIPA UI. In the inspiring talk show session, Adnan shared the story of his struggle when taking part in the University of Indonesia entrance selection process, as well as the various valuable experiences he gained during his academic and organizational life on campus. This enthusiastic story became a motivation for the visitors who attended.

Not only through the open booth, FMIPA UI also filled the presentation session on the second day, which was delivered by the FMIPA UI Public Relations Coordinator, Annisa Nurul Fitri. In her presentation, Annisa highlighted the excellence of FMIPA UI at the national and international levels, the achievements of the academic community, scientific innovation, and extensive academic cooperation. She also emphasized that FMIPA UI graduates have broad and flexible career prospects, even outside the disciplines they study.

"What is learned at FMIPA UI is not only theory or formulas, but also critical and systematic thinking skills that are applicable in various sectors, from laboratories to the startup world and even public policy," explained Annisa.

UI Open Days 2025 was attended by all faculties, schools, and vocational education programs at the University of Indonesia, with a series of activities such as open booths, study program presentations, campus tours using yellow buses, as well as bazaars and exhibitions of UI's superior products. This event was officially opened by the Head of the UI Cooperation and Entrepreneurship Agency, Dr. drg. Nia Ayu Ismaniati, MDSc., SpOrt.(K), who said that the high enthusiasm of visitors reflected UI's position as one of the main destinations for higher education in Indonesia.
