FMIPA UI Returns as the Center for Implementation of UTBK-SNBT 2025

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) is once again one of the locations for the 2025 Computer-Based Written Examination – National Test-Based Selection (UTBK-SNBT) at the University of Indonesia, Depok. This exam will take place on April 23–30 and May 2–4, 2025.

The implementation of UTBK in the FMIPA UI environment is divided into two sessions each day and is spread across two locations, namely the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building and the Geography Department Building. To ensure the smooth running of the exam, FMIPA UI has prepared 131 main computer units and 14 backup units as a form of anticipation of technical obstacles.

"We are fully committed to supporting the implementation of UTBK-SNBT optimally. Preparations have been carried out comprehensively since one month before, involving the information technology team, server administration, the Location Manager, and our Deputy Location Manager. We want to ensure that all participants can take the exam comfortably and smoothly," said Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., Dean of FMIPA UI.

Intensive technical preparations have been carried out by the FMIPA UI team, including location surveys, device maintenance, adjustments to computer specifications, installation of supporting applications, and national and internal system trials. In addition, a technical and operational support team has also been formed to assist in the implementation of the exam in the field.

In order to support participant comfort, FMIPA UI also provides a special transit room for participants before entering the exam room. This transit room utilizes air-conditioned and well-lit classrooms, as well as functioning as a temporary safe storage place for participants' belongings.

The first day of the UTBK implementation at FMIPA UI took place in an orderly and conducive manner. The high enthusiasm of the participants was evident from their presence who had filled the area since 05.00 WIB, long before the exam session began.

The Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) is a state university entrance selection system that is implemented digitally by the Education Testing Management Center (BPPP) under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemdiktisaintek RI). UTBK is the basis for selection for the National Test-Based Selection (SNBT) pathway, which replaces the term SBMPTN in the process of accepting new students at state universities throughout Indonesia.
