Depok, August 14, 2026 — The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), provided training for designated internal auditors through the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 19011 Internal Auditor Training. Held at the FMIPA UI Administration Center on Wednesday (August 5, 2026), the training aimed to develop auditors capable of assessing the effectiveness of the quality management system based on objective evidence.
The training featured Dr. Muhammad Habiburrahman, S.T., M.T., a practitioner specializing in ISO 9001 and ISO 21001 within educational organizations, as the speaker. The training covered not only the ISO 9001 clauses and ISO 19011 audit guidelines but also provided participants with hands-on experience through inter-group audit simulations.
According to Habiburrahman, auditors’ ability to conduct assessments based on evidence is an essential part of ensuring that internal audits provide meaningful benefits to the organization.
“Internal audits are not merely about identifying nonconformities, but about how auditors can assess whether the implemented system is functioning effectively based on evidence and identify opportunities for improvement,” said Habiburrahman.

The simulation was designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the audit process, from preparation to follow-up on audit findings. Participants first identified and reviewed the ISO documents of the unit serving as the auditee, and then prepared an audit checklist (checklist) audit.
The next stage includes implementation opening meeting, interviews, and tracing evidence of system implementation in the audited unit. Participants also practice identifying and classifying findings based on the evidence obtained, before proceeding with closing meeting, preparation of audit reports, through to the discussion of follow-up actions on corrective action.

Through this practice, internal auditors are expected to not only identify non-conformities but also assess whether the implemented system is running effectively. Internal audits also provide a space for work units to share experiences and identify opportunities (improvement) in the implementation of the quality management system within FMIPA UI.
The Internal Auditor Training is part of the preparations by FMIPA UI for the ISO 9001:2015 surveillance audit scheduled for 2026. Previously, FMIPA UI had conducted training Awareness ISO 9001:2015 on Tuesday (August 4, 2026) to enhance the understanding of the academic community and educational support staff regarding the implementation of the quality management system and readiness for the process surveillance.
