Ahead of Surveillance Audit, FMIPA UI Refreshes Understanding of ISO 9001:2015

Depok, August 13, 2026 — The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) is strengthening the understanding of its leadership and staff regarding the implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System through training Awareness ISO 9001:2015, Tuesday (August 4, 2026). This activity is part of the preparations by FMIPA UI for the 2026 ISO 9001:2015 surveillance audit.

The training took place in the 4th-floor meeting room of the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI, UI Depok Campus, and was attended by leaders and staff from units within the FMIPA UI Faculty Administration Center.

The Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration at FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Ivandini Tribidasari Anggraningrum, S.Si., M.Si., urged all leadership and staff to carry out every stage of preparation consistently and collaboratively. We are refreshing our understanding of what needs to be considered and prepared so that every unit can effectively carry out its role," said Prof. Ivandini.

He stated that readiness for the audit depends not only on the ISO Team but also on the involvement of every unit in ensuring that work processes, documents, and evidence of implementation align with the implemented system.

“What we hope for is not merely readiness for the audit, but rather that the entire process we have implemented truly reflects a quality management system in our day-to-day work. We must therefore ensure together that our operations are proceeding in accordance with established regulations,” he added.

The training featured Dr. Muhammad Habiburrahman, S.T., M.T.—an ISO 9001 and ISO 21001 practitioner within educational organizations—as the resource person. The activity aimed to refresh participants' understanding of ISO 9001:2015 implementation, focusing particularly on the rationale behind the standard, the roles of individual personnel, and key considerations for daily operations.

Participants gain an understanding of several principles within ISO 9001:2015, including process approachcustomer focusrisk-based thinkingdocumented information, monitoring, non-conformity (nonconformity), corrective action (corrective action), and continuous improvement (continual improvement).

The material is also linked to the work processes within each respective unit. Participants are encouraged to understand and apply the ISO 9001:2015 clauses in their work, ensuring that the standard is not merely viewed as an audit requirement but becomes an integral part of daily operations.

This activity also supports compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Clause 7.3 regarding awareness. Under this clause, personnel need to understand the quality policy, relevant quality objectives, their contribution to the effectiveness of the quality management system, the benefits of improved performance, and the consequences of failing to meet quality management system requirements.

Training Awareness ISO 9001:2015 is part of the series of preparations for the ISO 9001:2015 surveillance audit currently underway at FMIPA UI. This series began with ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Assistance Kick-off. Teams within each unit then undertook a series of preparatory actions, including reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure alignment with current conditions and work processes, gathering supporting evidence, processing survey data, and carrying out various follow-up measures as required by the unit.

This entire series of preparatory activities will continue leading up to the ISO 9001:2015 surveillance audit, scheduled for September 7, 2026, at the Central Administration Building of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI, located at the UI Depok Campus. The audit will involve the leadership and the FMIPA UI ISO Team, in accordance with the audit scope.
