Depok, November 23, 2022. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) collaborates in the fields of Education, Research, and Community Service in the Field of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the Digital Industry with PT. Evos Esport Indonesia, the largest Professional Esports Organization in Southeast Asia.
The collaboration that will be built between FMIPA UI and EVOS Esports focuses on synergizing the potential and optimizing human resources of both parties, as a form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and the Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) program in the digital industry sector.
The forms of this collaboration include education, research, community service, implementation of MBKM, training, implementation of the Evos Experience Zone program, career development, and other areas designed by both parties.
Dean of FMIPA UI, Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. welcomed the efforts to transfer of knowledge and skill between FMIPA UI and EVOS. The Dean said, "FMIPA UI welcomes the collaboration with EVOS Esports. This is a form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which has a direct impact on students, especially in the era of digital transformation. With this collaboration, it is hoped that it can develop students' potential to be able to explore information and experience specifically in the esports industry."
Through collaboration with EVOS, the Dean continued, it is hoped that access to and from universities can be expanded in order to develop the world of eSports. The Dean added that the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) scheme initiated by the Government makes communication between the two worlds promising. This is because, in addition to conventional collaboration in the form of higher education tridharma activities, namely education, research, and Community Service, the MBKM program not only facilitates non-formal activities such as internships and other student activities, but also appreciates them in the form of Semester Credit Units (SKS) for its participants.
In line with the Dean, the Director of Student Affairs of the University of Indonesia Dr. Badrul Munir, M.Eng. in his speech revealed that the esports industry has become a part of life in this era. Esports in higher education, according to him, can be used as a forum for developing student potential.
"We strongly support activities that must be accommodated, so that esports does not only emerge from the game side, but can also be a forum for our students to improve their achievements," he said.
Hartman Harris as President Director of EVOS Esports in his speech stated "EVOS is committed to supporting the younger generation to pursue their dreams and contribute significantly to society. Therefore, the collaboration of the EVOS Campus Camp program is one of the real proofs of EVOS as a professional organization in supporting students in work readiness, digital literacy and community service. Of course, in digital literacy, students are introduced to the esports industry which has bright prospects in the future"
Throughout 2021, EVOS Esports has collaborated with five universities in Indonesia in implementing various activities that can increase productivity and provide opportunities for students across faculties and study programs to collaborate and build connections with each other.
In the future, the EVOS Campus Camp Program will be a strategic step that is being developed and prepared by EVOS Esports to reach educational institutions in Indonesia. Each university in Indonesia will be provided with various benefits such as: Coaching Class, Internship Opportunities, Seminar Activities, Workshops and Tournaments and various other benefits.
