Profile

Prof. Anom Bowolaksono, Ph.D., obtained his undergraduate degree from the Department of Biology, FMIPA UI in 1997, subsequently pursuing his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in 2009 at the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, Okayama University, Japan, specialising in cell death programs in the ovarian organs of female bovines. In 2023, he was appointed as a professor of Integrated Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Indonesia. His international research experience includes the University of Washington, Seattle, US, under the 2012 Fulbright Fellowship; The Institute of Science, Tokyo, from 2016 to 2017, supported by the Hitachi Fellowship; and Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland, in 2020, funded by the UK Medical Research Council (MRC) and Newton Fund. He has published numerous research findings in various indexed international publications, resulting in extensive citations for subsequent study at both national and worldwide levels. He is presently engaged in comprehensive research on cancer biology and mitochondrial ageing, focussing on cellular and molecular pathways for early diagnosis, preventive strategies, and therapeutic development.
