Depok, May 17, 2022. As one of the 2022 Computer-Based Written Exam (UTBK) centers, the University of Indonesia (UI) provides supporting facilities to ensure the smooth implementation of the UTBK. At the Depok campus, UI provides 1,089 computers for use by UTBK participants and 166 backup computers in case of network issues. Meanwhile, at the Salemba campus, UI provides 229 computers for UTBK participants and 27 backup computers spread across seven different locations.
One of the locations for the 2022 UTBK at the UI Depok campus is the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA). Specifically, the location is the 3rd floor of the FMIPA UI Multidisciplinary Laboratory Building – PT Pertamina, and the Geography Department Building. Prof. Dr. rer.nat. Abdul Haris, M.Sc. The New Student Admissions (PMB) team, accompanied by the head and team of the University of Indonesia Campus Environmental Security Technical Implementation Unit (UPT PLK UI), inspected the location on Monday, May 16, 2022, exactly one day before the UTBK (Campus Test) implementation.
"UI, as one of the selected UTBK centers, has made every effort to ensure the smooth and secure running of the UTBK. We have formed a New Student Admissions (PMB) committee to organize and support the UTBK implementation so that it runs smoothly. Therefore, we are grateful to the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT) for entrusting us as one of the UTBK implementation centers," said Prof. Haris in a written statement.
The UTBK implementation is divided into two waves: the first wave from May 17–23, 2022, and the second wave from May 28–June 3, 2022. To prevent crowding, UI divided the UTBK (Competency Test) into two sessions: the first from 6:45 AM to 12:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time) and the second from 1:00 PM to 4:45 PM WIB.
The UTBK Site Manager (PJL) for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA UI), Ardiansyah, S.T., explained that the UTBK FMIPA UI team consists of 55 people, consisting of one Site Manager, one Deputy Site Manager, six Room Technicians, 13 Supervisors, nine Electrical Technicians, three members of the Faculty's Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (K3L) team, 14 Security Officers, and eight other support staff.
With his team, Ardiansyah has prepared all the main and supporting facilities, including the installation of the exam application on 73 computers with Core i5 processors and 8GB of RAM, consisting of 57 computers in the Laboratory Building. A multidisciplinary team and 16 computers in the Geography Department's Computer Laboratory prepared the exam room, arranged tables and chairs between participants, maintaining distances in accordance with UI's COVID-19 prevention and control guidelines, installed electrical and internet connections for the computers, briefed and provided exam simulations to proctors and all staff, and created scenarios for participant entry and exit.
"The total preparation time was approximately two months. The first step was arranging tables and chairs for participants, maintaining distances in accordance with UI's COVID-19 prevention and control guidelines, followed by the electrical, computer, and network installations," Ardi told the FMIPA UI Public Relations team.
Furthermore, Ardi explained, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, FMIPA UI implemented strict health protocols for exam participants. Participants were asked to arrive at the UTBK (Competency Test) location one hour before the exam. Companions or parents were not permitted to enter the building to avoid crowding.
"So, escorts will only drop off participants and are not allowed inside the building to prevent crowding, as participants will also line up and queue for registration in that area," said the IT Coordinator of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia.
Some rules that participants need to pay attention to are: participants must have received at least the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Participants who have just received the first dose must submit an Antigen Swab test valid for 1x24 hours or a PCR test result valid for 3x24 hours. Unvaccinated participants must undergo a PCR test and bring a doctor's certificate explaining the reason for not being vaccinated. UTBK participants must also have a body temperature below 37.3 degrees Celsius and be in good health.
To enter the exam location, participants must scan the barcode using the PeduliLindungi app. Only participants in the green category are allowed to enter the room. Participants are also required to adhere to health protocols by wearing a medical mask, washing their hands, and maintaining physical distance. Before the UTBK begins, exam requirements will be checked, including participant ID cards, identity cards (KTP/SIM), and certified copies of diplomas. Participants are prohibited from bringing food and drinks into the exam room during the UTBK. Participants found cheating will be removed from the exam room by the committee.
