The Department of Biology
Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Universitas Indonesia
On Wednesday (March 30, 2022), after inaugurating the Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit (UPMA), Managers, Department Heads, and Study Program Heads, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI, Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., led a working meeting. The meeting ran until April 1, 2022, at the Royal Tulip Gunung Geulis Hotel, Bogor.
In addition to the new officials, the meeting involved academic and non-academic teams, including Unit Coordinators, Departmental Advance Fund Holders (PUM), and the Teaching Plan Book (BRP) development team.
Opening the meeting, the Dean stated that the working meeting was held to support the performance of the FMIPA UI leadership for the 2022-2025 period and to build understanding regarding the work program among the leadership within the FMIPA UI and its staff.
The main agenda of the meeting consisted of the Dean's presentation on the leadership performance contract and key performance indicators, as well as a presentation by the Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Dr. rer. nat. Budiawan, and the Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration, Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si., discussed the work programs and cascading activities of their respective fields. Then, the General and Facilities Manager, Mohammad Hidayat, S.Sos., presented on the Concept of Preparing Budget Entity Work Plans and Work Plans (RKT-RKA).
In a parallel session, the managers from each field presented their work programs and activities, followed by a discussion session. Also in a parallel session, the Head of UPMA, Dr. Denny R. Silaban, M.Kom., led the development of the Teaching Plan Book (BRP) for the 2020 curriculum by a special team. Adapting the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology's policy on the Independent Campus (Kampus Merdeka), the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Indonesia (UI) revised the curriculum.
The BRP was developed to complement the results of this revision. The BRP is a book containing a learning process plan designed for learning activities over a semester to meet the graduate learning outcomes assigned to the courses.
The preparation of a Course Plan (BRP) is crucial for ensuring the quality of course delivery and its adherence to the curriculum. Therefore, each course must be equipped with a BRP, following the online/blended BRP format established by the UI Rector and aligned with the SN-Dikti (National Education Standards).
In total, there are over 1,000 courses in the curriculum across 21 study programs at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI. Consultation with the Department's BRP team is being conducted to ensure at least 70% availability of BRP. Gradually, FMIPA UI's BRP is expected to reach 100% before the end of the year.
By adhering to teaching materials that meet the required standards, it is hoped that the implementation of educational programs can run optimally.
Furthermore, due to the shift to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, every lecturer at FMIPA UI is required to adapt their BRP to both online and blended formats.
Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris, M.Sc. was also present at this important event. Before the entire meeting team, the lecturer and Professor of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI), specializing in geophysics, presented UI's 2022 academic work program, which has been cascaded down to the faculty level.
These included improving UI's international ranking, intensifying and managing the Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM) program, and achieving National and International Accreditation.
