Depok, May 26, 2026 — The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), held the 2026 Fast Track Program Coordination Meeting at Plaza Felfest UI, Depok, on Wednesday (May 20, 2026). The event served as part of the dissemination of the latest guidelines for the implementation of Universitas Indonesia’s Fast Track Program, as stipulated in Rector’s Decree No. 292/SK/R/UI/2026. The dissemination aimed to provide study programs and faculties with a comprehensive understanding of the program’s implementation mechanisms, including admission requirements, curriculum management, study duration, and evaluation processes for both the Bachelor’s–Master’s and Master’s–Doctoral Fast Track pathways.

Dean of FMIPA UI, Tito Latif Indra, stated that the Fast Track Program is one of the key strategic initiatives that should be further developed at FMIPA UI to create an educational ecosystem that is adaptive to the evolving needs of science and research.
“Through the Fast Track Program, FMIPA UI seeks to create an educational system that is more responsive to the advancement of science and the evolving demands of contemporary research,” said Prof. Tito.
Prof. Tito further explained that the program provides opportunities for high-achieving students to advance more rapidly without compromising academic quality.
“It is hoped that students will be able to develop more quickly into scientific talents with strong academic competencies while remaining well-prepared to face global challenges,” he added.
According to him, the acceleration of study pathways must be accompanied by strengthened learning systems, academic mentoring, and measurable evaluation processes to ensure that graduates’ competencies remain aligned with Universitas Indonesia’s academic standards.

Meanwhile, FMIPA UI Education Manager Fevi Novkaniza, stated that cross-departmental coordination among study programs is a crucial factor in the successful implementation of the Fast Track Program within the faculty.
“Through this coordination meeting, we aim to ensure that all study programs share a common understanding of the implementation mechanisms, academic requirements, and evaluation processes of the Fast Track Program,” said Dr. Fevi.
She added that FMIPA UI has also prepared various administrative documents and supporting forms that can be accessed online by prospective participants of the program.
The coordination meeting featured Raditya Iswandana, Head of the Universitas Indonesia Subdirectorate for Educational Development, as the keynote speaker. The event was attended by faculty leaders, study program administrators, and educational staff from across FMIPA UI.

In his presentation, Dr. Raditya explained that the Fast Track Program is designed to provide high-achieving students with the opportunity to complete their studies across academic levels more efficiently, without compromising the quality of learning outcomes.
“The Fast Track Program is not merely an acceleration of the study period, but also a form of carefully designed curriculum integration that ensures the quality of graduates is maintained,” said Dr. Raditya.
He explained that under the Bachelor’s–Master’s Fast Track scheme, students may complete their studies in a minimum of eight semesters and a maximum of ten semesters. Meanwhile, the Master’s–Doctoral Fast Track scheme enables students to complete their education in a minimum of seven semesters and a maximum of eight semesters.
During the meeting, several eligibility requirements for prospective Fast Track Program participants were outlined. For the Bachelor’s–Master’s pathway, students must have completed a minimum of 120 credits (SKS) and achieved a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 by the sixth semester. In addition, students are required to meet the English language proficiency requirements and must not be repeating any courses during the seventh and eighth semesters.
For the Master’s–Doctoral pathway, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 by the end of the second semester and fulfill a number of other administrative and academic requirements.

The entire selection process for Fast Track Program participants is conducted by an evaluation team established by each participating study program. Upon completing the first academic level, students will be enrolled in the subsequent level through a credit transfer mechanism in accordance with national regulations.
Through this initiative, FMIPA UI hopes that the implementation of the Fast Track Program will be carried out more effectively and contribute to strengthening an academic culture that is excellent, adaptive, and globally competitive.
The event was also attended by Anom Bowolaksono, Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs; Ivandini Tribidasari Anggraningrum, Vice Dean for Resources, Venture, and General Administration; Januar Widakdo, Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit; Zico Alaia Akbar Junior, Manager of the Research Ecosystem and Impactful Science Commercialization; Asri Oktavioni Indraswari, Assistant Manager for Curriculum and International Classes; as well as department heads, study program coordinators, and members of the departmental Fast Track Program teams.
