The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) participated in UI Open Days 2022, an annual education exhibition organized by the Public Relations Bureau and KIP UI. This year's UI Open Days series of activities will be held from June 16-17, 2022 and June 21-22, 2022.
Rika Tri Yunarti, Ph. D. as the Education Manager was present as a speaker. She delivered a presentation about study programs (prodi) at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, as well as lecture activities. She also explained various collaborations with domestic and foreign partners. Likewise, information on the accreditation of each study program was also presented.
"In order to ensure quality, FMIPA UI continues to improve the quality of its accreditation for both national and international accreditation. Currently, FMIPA UI has obtained BANPT accreditation for 5 S1 study programs and 1 S2 study program with Excellent status, and A status for 4 S2 study programs and 2 S3 study programs. FMIPA UI has also obtained international accreditation from the Asean University Network for 4 S1 study programs, the Royal Society of Chemisty for the S1 Chemistry study program, and is in the process of ASIIN accreditation for 4 S1 study programs," said Rika.
Before closing the presentation session, the lecturer with expertise in Materials Chemistry provided an overview of career opportunities for FMIPA UI graduates, especially in the era of industry 4.0. He said that as graduates from the scientific field that is the forerunner to the birth of technological progress, FMIPA UI graduates have broad job prospects and even an important role in the development of technology itself.

Reporting from the UI release, this year, UI is opening student admissions through several channels, including the National Selection for State University Entrance (SNMPTN), Joint Selection for State University Entrance (SBMPTN), UI Entrance Selection (SIMAK), Talent Scouting, Achievement and Equalization of Learning Opportunities (PPKB), and Achievement Path. Several selections have been carried out and UI has accepted new students who will be active in the 2022/2023 academic year. As for the SBMPTN pathway, the announcement of the selection results is scheduled for June 23, while the Achievement pathway will be announced on June 24, 2022.
In order to provide socialization regarding the new student admission process, UI is holding a series of UI Open Days events which are held online. This is the result of joint work between the Bureau of Public Relations and Public Information Disclosure (Humas and KIP) with all public relations in faculties, vocational, and postgraduate schools at UI. Different from previous years, UI Open Days began with a quiz competition which was held for the first time and participated by representatives of high school students from several regions in Indonesia. The quiz that tested students' knowledge about UI was won by representatives from SMAN 46 Jakarta.
UI Secretary, dr. Agustin Kusumayati, M.Sc., Ph.D., in his remarks at the Peak Event of UI Open Days, said that UI Open Days aims to convey information about the new student admissions system and the lecture system at UI for prospective new students. "The presence of UI Open Days is motivated by the desire to open communication between those who want to join the big family of UI academics in order to obtain direct information from the faculty of their dreams," said Agustin.
Currently, the SIMAK UI registration process is underway until June 27, 2022. The SIMAK exam for the International Class S1 will be held on June 30, while for the Vocational, Regular S1, Parallel S1 programs it will be held on July 2-4. The SIMAK UI selection results were announced on July 14, 2022, with a total acceptance quota of 45%. The quotas for each educational program are: D3 Vocational (9 study programs/270 students), D4 Vocational (6 study programs/180 students), Regular S1 (64 study programs/2,786 students), Parallel S1 (44 study programs/815 students), and International Class S1 (26 study programs/421 students).
