Appointing New Officials, Dean of FMIPA UI Instructs Improvement in Achievements

On Wednesday (March 30, 2022), at Hotel Royal Tulip Gunung Geulis, Bogor, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), held an inauguration and oath-taking ceremony for the positions of Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit (UPMA), Managers, Department Heads, and Study Program Heads (Kaprodi). The ceremony was led directly by Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., as Dean. Serving as witnesses were Prof. Dr. Sumi Hudiyono PWS, Chair of the Board of Professors, and Dr. rer. nat. Eko Kusratmoko, Chair of the Faculty Academic Senate.

This inauguration was one of the main agendas of the work meeting initiated by the Dean as a follow-up to the official appointment of new officials within FMIPA UI. The event, which continued until April 1, 2022, was attended by participants of the academic and non-academic work meeting, including Unit Coordinators, Department Advance Fund Holders (PUM), and the team responsible for drafting the Teaching Design Book (BRP).

Subsequently, after the inauguration ceremony on the same day, all newly appointed officials, along with the work meeting participants, joined consignment sessions according to their respective fields.

In his remarks, the Dean of FMIPA UI stated, “Alhamdulillah, today is a moment of recognition for all of you who have been inaugurated. May you always carry out your duties with integrity and work together in synergy to advance our beloved FMIPA UI,” said Dean Dede after inaugurating the new officials.

He also reminded his team that there are many indicators in the leadership performance contract that must be fulfilled. Therefore, he instructed his officials to continue and enhance the achievements made by the previous leadership.

“There are many indicators, performance contracts (kokin) that we need to fulfill together — this is our homework on how to advance FMIPA UI, especially in matters related to core business us, particularly in relation to education and students.”

“The achievements made by our predecessors have been extraordinary, so we must maintain and improve them, especially in this era of the Covid-19 pandemic, which is full of change, adaptation, and challenges. The Dean and Vice Deans of FMIPA UI have reached almost 100 days in office since being elected. We have received a lot of input regarding the tridharma, human resources, and also the completion of UI’s Strategic Plan (Renstra). What we also need to do together is to finalize this Strategic Plan. It is almost complete and needs to be finalized soon,” he added.

The newly appointed officials at the managerial level are: Dr. Denny R. Silaban, M.Kom. (Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit), Dr. Denny continues his role from the previous term, Rika Tri Yunarti, S.Si., M.Eng., Ph.D (Education Manager) replacing Dr. Ratna Yuniati, M.Sc., Dr. Dipo Aldila, S. Si., M.Si. (Research and Community Engagement Manager) replacing Prof. Dr. Ivandini Tribidasari Anggraningrum, M.Sc., Faris Zulkarnain, S.Si., M.T. (Student Affairs Manager) replacing Dr. Retno Lestari, M.Sc., Dr. Lukmanda Evan Lubis, M.Si. (Manager of Partnerships, Ventures, and Alumni Relations) replacing Selo Sukardi, S.Si.

In addition, newly appointed managerial-level officials from the administrative staff (tendik) are: Mohammad Hidayat, S.Sos. (General and Facilities Manager), previously M. Hidayat served as the Coordinator of Planning and Budgeting. Then Fakhrur Rizqi, S.Sos.(Human Resources Manager), who previously served as the Coordinator of the Human Resources Unit, and Erning Setiyono, M.Si. (Head of Executive Secretariat). Erning continues her role from the previous term.

The inclusion of administrative staff (tendik) in the leadership ranks of FMIPA UI is not the first time. Previously, during the leadership of Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris as Dean of FMIPA UI in his first term from 2014 to 2018, and his second term from 2018 to 2019, he had appointed two administrative staff members to his leadership team — namely Erning Setiyono, M.Si. as General Manager in the first term, who was later succeeded by Oscar Riansyah T. when Erning took on a new role as Head of Executive Secretariat in the second term.

On the same occasion, the Dean also inaugurated the department heads, consisting of: Prof. Alhadi Bustamam, S.Si., M.Kom., Ph.D. (Head of the Department of Mathematics) replacing Dr. Dian Lestari, DEA., Djati Handoko, Ph.D. who is still continuing his term as Head of the Department of Physics, Asep Saefumillah, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. (Head of the Department of Chemistry) replacing Dr. rer. nat. Budiawan, Anom Bowolaksono, Ph.D. (Head of the Department of Biology) replacing Dr. rer. nat. Yasman who was also inaugurated as Head of the Marine Science Study Program, and Dr. Supriatna, M.T. still continuing his position as Head of the Department of Geography.

Meanwhile, the study program heads who were inaugurated were: Dr. Eng. Supriyanto (Head of Geology and Geophysics Study Program), Dr. rer. nat. Hendri Murfi, M. Kom. (Head of Mathematics Undergraduate Study Program), Dr. Dra. Titin Siswantining, DEA. (Head of Statistics S1 Study Program), Fevi Novkaniza, M. Si. (Head of Actuarial S1 Study Program), Anawati, M. Sc. Ph.D. (Head of Physics Undergraduate Study Program), Muhammad Ridwan, M. Eng. Ph. D. (Head of Chemistry S1 Study Program), Astari Dwiranti, M. Eng., Ph. D. (Head of Biology Undergraduate Study Program), Iqbal Putut Ash Shidiq, M. Sc. (Head of Geography Undergraduate Study Program), and Dr. Hengki Tasman, M. Si. (Head of Masters Program in Mathematics).

Then Adhi Harmoko Saputro, S.Si., M.Kom., Ph.D. (Head of Masters & Doctoral Program in Physics), Dr. Budhy Kurniawan, M.Si. (Head of Masters & Doctoral Study Program in Materials Science), Supriyanto Ardjo Pawiro, M.Si., Ph.D. (Master of Medical Physics), Dr. Dra. Dian Hendrayanti, M. Sc. (Head of Biology Masters & Doctoral Study Program), Dr. rer. nat. Yasman (Head of Marine Science Masters Program), Aminah, M. Sc., Ph. D. (Head of Masters & Doctoral Program in Chemistry), and Dr. Hafid Setiadi, M. T. (Head of Masters Program in Geography).
